Our Statement of Faith

The Bible

We believe that the Bible, the 66 books that comprise the Old and New Testaments, was inspired by the Holy Spirit of God, contains no errors, is the word of God, and is the revelation of God to mankind. For that reason we trust in its authority in regards to our faith and daily lives.

(2 Timothy 3:15-17, 2 Peter 1:19-21, Psalm 19:7-11, John 17:17, Psalm 119:105, Psalm 119:130-133, Ephesians 6:17, Romans 15:4)

The One True God

We believe, according to what is written in the Bible, that the living God is one, and that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit represented as the Trinity are one, and that God is an eternal being.

(Jeremiah 10:10, Psalm 90:2, Deuteronomy 6:4, Isaiah 44:6, Mark 12:29, 1 Corinthians 8:4, Ephesians 4:6, Matthew 3:16-17, Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:13, 1 Peter 1:2, John 10:30, John 17:5, John 17:11, John 14:16-17, John 15:26, John 16:7-15, 1 John 1:3, 1 Corinthians 2:10-11)

God the Father

We believe that God the Father created the heavens and the earth, is omniscient and omnipotent, is perfect in holiness, and has limitless power and wisdom, and is a merciful God.

(Jeremiah 32:17, Psalm 139:1-13, Genesis 17:1, Isaiah 6:3, Deuteronomy 32:4, Psalm 147:5, Lamentations 3:22-23)

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of the eternal God. We believe that He was conceived of the virgin Mary by the Holy Spirit, redeemed the world of its sins, died on the cross in mankind’s place, was buried, and was resurrected on the third day. We believe that He was raised up to sit at the right hand of the Father, and that He intercedes for His people as their High Priest.

(Luke 1:35, Mark 1:1, John 1:14, Galatians 4:4, 1 John 5:20, Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:18-25, 1 Timothy 2:5-6, 1 Corinthians 15:1-8, Luke 24:1-7, Acts 1:3, Luke 24:51, Mark 16:19, Hebrews 8:1, Hebrews 12:2, Hebrews 2:17, Hebrews 5:9-10, Hebrews 7:25-26, 1 John 2:1)

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit reveals the truth about the whole world falling short of God, and about sin, righteousness, and judgment. We believe that the Holy Spirit regenerates the believer, purifies them, and secures their salvation. We believe that the Holy Spirit lives within the saints and leads them to the truth. We believe that He teaches, helps, intercedes, and encourages the saints, and gives them gifts and strength.

(John 16:8-11, John 3:5-6, 1 Corinthians 6:11, 2 Thessalonians 2:13, 1 Peter 1:2, Ephesians 1:13-14, Ephesians 4:30, 1 Corinthians 3:16, 1 Corinthians 6:19, John 14:16-17, John 15:26-27, John 16:13, John 14:26, Romans 8:26-27, Acts 9:31, 1 Corinthians 12:4-11, Luke 24:29, Acts 1:8)

Mankind and Salvation

We believe that all people are born sinners, have been separated from God, are depraved, and cannot restore themselves to God by their own strength or works. However, we believe that those who believe and accept Jesus Christ as their Savior are forgiven, made righteous, are reconciled to God, and receive eternal life by God’s grace. We believe that, under the complete governance of the Holy Spirit living within them, they are sanctified and will be glorified at the Second Coming in accordance with God’s grace.

(Isaiah 64:6-7, Romans 5:12, Romans 8:7-8, Ephesians 2:1-3, Romans 3:23, Romans 3:10-20, Romans 1:28-32, Galatians 3:22, 1 John 1:8, Isaiah 59:2, Ephesians 2:8-9, Luke 24:46-47, Romans 10:9-10, Ephesians 1:7, 1 John 1:7, 1 Peter 1:18-19, Romans 3:24, 1 Peter 2:24, Acts 13:38-39, 2 Corinthians 5:17-21, Romans 5:9-11, Ephesians 2:13, Romans 5:18-21, John 3:16, Romans 6:23, John 10:28, 2 Corinthians 3:18, Philippians 3:20-21, Romans 8:18, 1 Corinthians 15:52-53, 1 John 3:2)

Church

We believe that the Church was built by Jesus Christ, that He purchased it with His own blood, and that He is the head of the Church. We believe that the Church confesses Jesus as Lord, is a community of people that worships God, and is the body of Christ. We believe that the Church teaches the Bible, prepares the saints, observes the sacraments of baptism and communion, and has received the command from the Lord to preach the gospel to the whole world.

(Matthew 16:18, Acts 20:28, Colossians 1:18, Ephesians 1:22-23, Matthew 16:16, Ephesians 4:11-16, Matthew 28:19, Acts 2:38, Acts 2:41, Matthew 26:26-29, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26, Acts 1:8, Mark 16:15-16)

The Second Coming of Christ

We believe in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, a blessed hope promised in the word of God.

(Titus 2:13, Acts 1:10-11, Revelation 22:20)
